Sew Trying It’s vision is to ‘inspire a creative life’.  Whilst we mainly do this through the sewing and handmade items, many other creative formats are showcased to inspire you to break through the routine and monotony of everyday life and express your creativity more.

Sew Trying It is operated solely by Tracey Slean, a self taught sewer who knows exactly what it is like to be learning a new craft and navigating your way through the plethora of information available.  Through the Blog and social media sites she aims to provide relevant information to ensure you get set up on the correct path forward.

Sew Trying It’s facebook and instagram pages are full of hints and tips on sewing and recommends different pattern and fabric designers for you to add to your wishlist.  These sites also put the spotlight on a variety of creative formats and feature different artists and their work to inspire you on your creative journey.

Tracey is a pattern tester for a number of different pattern designers and when new patterns are being released a blog will feature on these patterns to provide hints and tips to set you up for success when sewing it yourself.

The Blog and Store work collectively together with a new pattern being made available in the store after every blog is published.  The store encourages you to use your creativity by choosing your own designer fabrics and pairing them with a pattern to make a creation that is unique to you or as a gift for someone you love.  Or be inspired by the Blog and make it yourself and Tracey would love to follow your sewing journey, so post your photos to #youresewcreative and #sewtryingit to join the Sew Trying It community.

When Tracey isn’t sewing she has two lively children who keep her busy, Alex (boy) is almost 5 years old and Edwina (girl) just turned 2.  They receive lots of handmade items in their wardrobes but they don’t always make the most compliant models.  :)
